Graduation dates and eligibility
Check the eligibility guidelines for UCL Graduation 2026, listed by faculty.
We confirm ceremony dates and times for each faculty and department in February 2026. If you registered your interest on Portico, you will receive an email with your exact ceremony date and time.
If you are due to complete your course in September 2026, you would not be eligible for a ceremony this year and would be invited to a future ceremony in 2027.
Ceremony dates
- 18 to 22 May 2026
- 6 July 2026
- 7 to 11 September 2026
You can only attend a ceremony once you have completed your registration on the Graduation Portal and your degree has been formally awarded.
Do not book travel or accommodation until you have received confirmation of your ceremony and secured your student ticket.
Graduate schedule
Graduation dates are organised by faculty and level of study. These are estimated periods and may change depending on your award.
You’ll receive your confirmed ceremony date after you submit your expression of interest on Portico (opens mid-January).
Please note, when applying for an extension or deferral in your course, it’s important to keep in mind that this could make you ineligible to meet the deadlines required to graduate with your cohort and attend your designated ceremony in 2026. It may cause delays to your attendance at graduation.
Eligibility
Check your eligibility for the 2026 graduation ceremonies based on your level of study.
Students with an award date between August 2025 and 8 July 2026 who were not invited to a 2025 ceremony.
You'll attend:
- All faculties (excluding MBBS): September 2026.
- MBBS: July 2026.
If you are an undergraduate student awarded after 8 July 2026, you will be invited to your next eligible ceremony in 2027.
Students with an award date between May 2025 and November 2025 who were not invited to a 2025 ceremony.
You’ll attend:
- Arts & Humanities, Bartlett, Engineering Sciences, IOE, Medical Sciences, Social & Historical Sciences, Population Health Sciences, Brain Sciences*: May 2026.
- Brain Sciences (Division of Psychology and Language Sciences) and MBBS: July 2026.
- Laws, Life Sciences, Mathematical & Physical Sciences: September 2026.

- Brain Sciences (Division of Psychology and Language Sciences) and MBBS: July 2026.
- Laws, Life Sciences, Mathematical & Physical Sciences: September 2026.

If you are a postgraduate taught student whose award is confirmed after the boards listed above, you will be invited to either a September 2026 ceremony or the next available postgraduate ceremony in 2027. If you are unsure which ceremony you are eligible to attend, please contact our team for confirmation.
Arts & Humanities, Bartlett, Engineering Sciences, IOE, Medical Sciences, Social & Historical Sciences, Population Health Sciences, Brain Sciences:
You’ll attend a May 2026 ceremony if awarded by 28 February 2026. You will be sent an email on 4 March with further information regarding your upcoming ceremony.
Brain Sciences (Division of Psychology and Language Sciences) and MBBS
You’ll attend a July 2026 ceremony if awarded by 28 March 2026. You will be sent an email on 9 April with further information regarding your upcoming ceremony.
Laws, Life Sciences, Mathematical & Physical Sciences
You’ll attend a September 2026 ceremony if awarded by 28 June 2026. You will be sent an email on 15 July with further information regarding your upcoming ceremony.
If you are a Postgraduate Research student awarded after the above deadlines, you will be invited to your next eligible ceremony in 2027.
