- First-language teachers: All our teachers speak the language they are teaching as their first language.
- Recognised learning: Our courses are CPD-accredited, which means they count towards your professional development.
- Multi-term discount: You will get a discount if you book for more than one term.
- UCL, UCLH and University of London discount: Students, staff and alumni from UCL, UCLH or any of the University of London institutions receive a discount.
- Self-Access Centre (SAC): A digital library where you can practise by yourself, using film/TV, newspapers/magazines, radio, online exercises and recorded lectures.

Some online film and TV services only work if you are in the UK. The extra services we offer can sometimes change. If you want to use a specific service, please contact us to check it is still available.
Other courses
Evening language courses are for personal development and do not count as credits toward a university degree. If you are a current UCL student and want to earn credits as part of your degree, you should consider modules as part of your degree.
If you are a UCL student and attend at least 70% of your evening language classes, you can ask us to add this to your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR). This is the official record of what you have achieved during your time at university.
If you’re interested in learning Dutch, we offer Online Dutch courses.
If you’re interested in learning a Slavonic or Eastern European language, please see the SSEES website.
CPD accreditation
All UCL Evening Language Courses have been accredited by the CPDCS.
