Alternative sources of support

UCL Alumni Relations Office

All UCL graduates, (including those who completed a course at UCL more than three years ago and who no longer have access to ‘next steps’ graduate support through the UCL Careers Team), will have life-long access to services and support for career / professional development and lifelong learning provided through UCL’s Alumni Relations Office. 

These include:

• UCL Alumni Networking which provides access to UCL alumni spanning a wide range of professions across the globe, many of whom will be willing to give informal advice / support to UCL students and graduates considering their career options.
• UCL Connect which offers a range of services including award-winning professional networking events to meet fellow alumni who are leaders in their sectors, free online mentoring, webcasts and lots more.

Prospective UCL students

If you are thinking about studying at UCL and want to learn more about a particular course, life at UCL or potential career prospects, please visit our Prospective students page for further information. If you do then enrol / start a course at UCL, you will have full student access to our services from the first day of your course here.

Current students or recent graduates from another university

If you completed your course at UCL more than three years ago and have studied at another university more recently, local careers support is likely to be available there, (though ongoing access to graduate services at different universties may vary).

If you are currently studying anywhere other than at UCL, talk to staff in your department or within Student Services at your university about careers support that is available to you.

Careers support for the general public

• The National Careers Service: A free service provided by the UK government. Open to anyone, their website offers information on careers, applications and CVs, and courses. You can also get advice from careers advisors by telephone, email or webchat or arrange an appointment in person.

Referrals to third party career providers
