Your research degree in 21/22

What to expect during a research degree in a post-COVID environment.

Most up-to-date info via the Doctoral School

The Doctoral School will have the most up-to-date information for research students at UCL.

What to expect during a research degree in a post COVID environment?

As a Post Graduate Research (PGR) student, while mostly you will be carrying out independent research, you might need to develop some academic skills through courses offered at UCL. Also, you will probably be required to attend meetings with your supervisors and other researchers, which could be face-to-face or online. With this backdrop, below are few things to expect in a post COVID learning environment:

Blended by design learning approach

This year UCL will be conducting teaching and learning in a blended approach. This will consist of a blend of both online and face-to-face teaching and learning, focusing on maximising opportunities to connect with others. Feedback from students last year taught us that there are a lot of benefits to keeping some of your learning online, particualrly large group lectures, so that time with your peers and lecturers can focus on interaction.
