About Enrica

What was your experience of further or higher education like?

Being a university student was quite a life-changing experience for me, especially in a big city such as London. I loved what I was studying and was often so absorbed by it to completely forget about the rest. Luckily, I met wonderful people who helped me to feel more connected to my surroundings and myself which has allowed me to develop new skills and foster personal growth.

Who or what made the biggest positive impact on you when you were studying? And how did they support you?

My personal tutor has made the biggest impact during my time as a student. She helped me to navigate university life and discover new opportunities, and encouraged me to feel empowered and making decisions autonomously.

What working achievements or initiatives are you most proud of?

At the last university I worked at, I was part of the team that created and delivered the Covid-19 Emergency Fund, a grant designed to help the most vulnerable students in need during the pandemic. It was great being able to support students in such challenging times and see how a small gesture can go a long way in changing people’s lives.

If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?

I would tell my younger self not to worry about being different as this is what makes us unique.

What would surprise people to know about you?

I love butterflies and how charming it is to witness their metamorphosis. Every summer I buy live caterpillars and keep them in my home until they’re ready to be released in nature as butterflies.
