We’re looking for UCL students to complete the SOS-UK Student Drug and Alcohol Impact Survey.

As part of our commitment to build an inclusive, supported student community, we have partnered with the Students' Union and SOS-UK to conduct a short and confidential survey to find out more about your views and experiences relating to alcohol and drugs.

The survey is open until 7th December 2025 and should take about 15 minutes to complete. All students can participate, even if you don’t drink or use drugs.  If you complete, you will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win £100. There will also be 5 x £50 prizes up for grabs!

Your responses will be completely anonymous and will enhance our understanding of how students engage with drugs and alcohol. By taking part in the survey, you'll help us shape our development and implementation of Harm Reduction at UCL and the support we offer.

Harm Reduction at UCL

At UCL, our harm reduction approach is grounded in respect, inclusion and non-judgement. We recognise that students may engage in a range of behaviours that carry potential risks, and our focus is on reducing those risks, promoting safer choices, and supporting overall wellbeing. Evidence shows that harm reduction is about providing practical information, tools and support to help communities stay safe and healthy, rather than enforcing abstinence.

Support for alcohol, drugs, unwanted or addictive behaviours

UCL Student Support and Wellbeing Services offer support for students who are experiencing problems with alcohol, substances, unwanted or addictive behaviours. We offer advice, external services information, and more on a range of topics, from alcoholl use to gaming and gambling.
