About Taran

What was your experience of Further/Higher education like?

I really enjoyed my time at university but also found it challenging at times. I was the first of my family to go to university so I didn’t know what to expect. I talked to university staff about issues I was having and this helped a lot with making my experience easier and more enjoyable.

What do you like most about your work as a Student Adviser?

I enjoy witnessing the growth of students throughout their first year, from before they begin at UCL to receiving their first exam results. I also love participating in events and activities for students, such as open days and induction week.

What's a surprising or interesting fact about yourself?

I used to work at a museum when I was a teenager, and have helped to catalogue letters written by Jane Austen and Lord Byron!
