- About Paloma
What was your experience of Further/Higher education like?
I came to the UK ten years ago for my Undergraduate at UCL. I then did my MA and PhD at the University of Warwick. When I came to London, it was the first time I lived by myself, away from my parents, brother, pets, and friends. Although it was sometimes an overwhelming experience, I enjoyed my years and journey in higher education immensely: I met many interesting people, made some very good friends, and created a new life for myself.
What do you like most about your work as a Student Adviser?
As a Student Adviser, one of the aspects I like most about my role is being able to help students. Although some parts of the role can be very challenging, it's very rewarding seeing students thrive and complete their studies and knowing you were part of the process of helping them out.
What's a surprising or interesting fact about yourself?
I love going to conventions! I have been several times to Comic-con and have always cosplayed.
