What does the Overseas Vaccine Validation Service do?

The Overseas Vaccine Validation Service enables individuals who have had their coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccinations administered overseas to be validated and added to a person's health records. This takes 7-10 days and enables individuals to access the NHS Covid Pass.

The following vaccines can be validated:

  • Oxford/AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria);
  • Pfizer/BioNTech (Comirnaty);
  • Johnson & Johnson (Janssen);
  • Moderna (Spikevax);
  • Institute of India (Covishield);
  • Bharat Biotech (Covaxin);
  • SinoVac (CoronaVac);
  • Beijing Institute of Biological Products (Sinopharm BIBP).

How to access the service

To access the service, you must:

  • be over 16 years in age;
  • have an NHS number;
  • have registered with a GP;
  • have a valid passport;
  • have certified evidence of the vaccinations you received overseas.

UCL Students can access this service at the Student Enquiries Centre (First floor UCL Student Centre) as a walk-in service on a Wednesdaybetween 10am-4pm.

Alternatively, students and staff can book an appointment to update their vaccination status from abroad via the NHS. Appointments are available at the UCLH vaccination centre in Bidborough House or other vaccination sites.

More information about the UCLH vaccination centre and their services can be found on their website.
