Witness a moment that transformed European history
30 September 2020
Thursday 29 October, 12:00 - 13:30 - Join head of the UCL Art Collections Nina Pearlman and Andrea Fredericksen, UCL Art Museum Curator, as they introduce you to the current exhibition Witnessing Terror: French Revolutionary Prints 1792-94.

You'll hear from the exhibition's curator Dr Richard Taws (UCL History of Art) as he takes a guided tour through the portraits of revolutionary martyrs and the dramatic scenes of Parisian crowds to give a unique insight into how people understood life during the Terror.
Learn how the elderly Duchess of Elbeuf survives home confinement under the terror of the revolution with a specially commissioned play and short film, The Duchess by Nicola Baldwin and Saskia Marland. Inspiration is drawn from newly discovered contemporary letters that inform the exhibition.
