Guidance on how to select your modules for 2022/23 if your first choices were unsuccessful.
You will receive an email letting you know if you have been successful in getting a place on your preferred modules.
Unfortunately, it is not always possible to ensure all students can study their chosen modules. If you are required to change a module your department will contact you to discuss.
Please select an alternative module as soon as possible to get the best chance of getting a place.
To view your choices, log in to Portico and click the My Studies tab in the navigation bar and scroll down to My Modules.
If any modules you selected are unavailable, they will appear in the ‘Unavailable Module Selection for 2022/23 – Please select alternatives’ container. The reason for needing to reselect is revealed when the mouse is hovered over the module.
You can reselect any unavailable modules by clicking on the ‘Select Alternative Module’ button.
You will then be taken to the below page. Click on the drop down to select an alternative module and click ‘next.’ Please note the alternative modules will only be available from within the collection that the declined module was originally chosen from.
You will receive confirmation of this alternative selection. Click ‘done.
You can then view reselected module in the ‘Unavailable Module Selection for 2022/23 – Please select alternatives’ container. Your re-selection will sit here until it is approved fully by you parent and teaching departments.
Once your department has confirmed your reselection it will be given the status of Approved fully. If you scroll further down the my studies section on Portico you can see your approved module choices in the ‘Module Selections for 2022/23’ container.
