When to arrive at UCL

This page gives new international students information about when to arrive in the UK.

When to arrive at UCL

As a new international student, you want to make sure that you arrive with enough time to settle in before term starts. This can include moving into your accommodation, sorting out your UK bank account, registering with a GP, becoming more familiar with UCL's campus meeting people and all those other things that will make your start to UCL life as good as possible.

UCL will be running International Week in the week before Term 1 starts in September 2024. There will be lots of in-person events and chance to meet new people!

Things to consider

Of course, there are things to consider if you choose to arrive early.

For students staying in UCL Accommodation, you may need to submit an Early Arrival Request on the UCL Accommodation Portal after you have accepted your offer. This also means you will need to pay for any days extra days you spend in UCL Accommodation.

The same extra costs will apply if you are staying in private accommodation (non-UCL Accommodation) however this will need to be arranged directly with your private accommodation.

This choice is yours to make and whenever you arrive, we look forward to welcoming you to UCL.
