Monday, 20 October 2025
- Introduction to Study Abroad | SB31 Denys Holland Lecture Theatre, Bentham House | 1 - 2pm
Interested in going abroad during your time at UCL? Whether you are preparing to undertake a study abroad placement as part of your academic programme in 2026-27 or you'd like to pursue a short-term opportunity outside of term time, join us for an overview of the opportunities available to you and how the Study Abroad team can support you.
- Putting together a successful study abroad application (Part 1 of 2) | Microsoft Teams | 5 - 6pm
In this first part of two application-related sessions, we'll share guidance and advice on curating a successful study abroad application and what to consider in your university research process.
This session is relevant for students from all UCL departments who are preparing to go abroad for either a year or semester in 2026-27. The session will take place online and an access link will be sent to all students who register on the afternoon of the event.

- Funding your Study Abroad Experience | Roberts Building 106 | 1 - 2pm
During this session, we will take a look at the tuition fee structure for semester and year-long study abroad placements, costs that you will be responsible for whilst abroad, funding opportunities and managing your budget living whilst abroad. We will also provide an overview of tuition and maintenance loan arrangements through Student Finance.
This session is relevant for students from all UCL departments who are preparing to go abroad in 2026-27.

Learn from the real experts; those who've walked in your shoes! Join our wonderful Study Abroad Widening Participation Ambassadors who have recently returned from their placements abroad. Our ambassadors will share their experiences abroad and their top tips for navigating the study abroad process.
This session is relevant for students from all UCL departments who are preparing to go abroad in 2026-27.
- Putting together a successful Study Abroad application (Part 2 of 2) | AV Hill Lecture Theatre (Medical Sciences and Anatomy) | 5 - 6pm
In the second part of our two application-related sessions, we'll share an overview of deadlines and steps for the central application process, putting together a strategic application and tips for making your answers stand out.
This session is most relevant for students from departments who will be apply through the central study abroad application process in 2026-27. If you're unsure on your application route for a semester or year abroad, please check with your departmental study abroad tutor.
