The SAWP Ambassador Programme is for UCL students from a widening participation background who have completed a study or work placement abroad.
About the SAWP Ambassador Programme
The Study Abroad Widening Participation (SAWP) Ambassador Programme is a paid opportunity that brings together a cohort of ambassadors to improve both the recruitment of students from widening participation backgrounds to study abroad, and the experience of widening participation students whilst abroad.
Applications are open to UCL students from any academic discipline who have completed and returned from either a semester or year abroad and/or a short-term international mobility. Applications are now closed.
Eligibility criteria
To apply for the programme, you must:
- Be in good academic standing
- Be studying in London
- Have pursued a work or study abroad placement through UCL (year abroad, semester abroad or short-term placement)
- Meet one or more of the widening participation criteria as detailed in the table below
Household income of £42,000 or less (or £25,000 or less in another currency) | Receiving income-related benefits |

Application and selection process
Applications are now closed for the 23-24 academic year. Applications for next year's cohort of SAWP ambassadors will open in autumn 2024.
