Hello everyone!
It’s been a while since the last blog post and a lot has changed. After the best time of my life in Rio de Janeiro, I moved to Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, to start my second semester of my year abroad for Spanish.
My first impressions of the city is that it is small and very q u i e t. It is a completely different vibe to Rio which has been interesting to navigate. To be honest, I have pretty much explored the city already, with the main parts of it easily discoverable in a day or perhaps two if you take a slower pace.

One of my friends came to visit me from Rio three weeks after I arrived here so I waited until then to explore the city because I knew it wouldn’t take long to explore. We also took a little trip to Punta del Este which is another town in Uruguay, quite beachy and posh but as we were coming to the end of the high season, like most of the country, there wasn’t much going on. I have taken advantage of the fact that I had some time off and went to visit one of my closest friends from UCL in Buenos Aires and I went to Santiago and Valparaíso where in each city I visited/met up with a friend who I met in Rio. It was really nice to get out of Montevideo and go to places that were bigger and had more life. I have exhausted my budget so I don’t think I have any more travels coming up so I am staying in quiet Montevideo until my semester ends.

I live with twelve other people in a house which is interesting. I mostly focus on going to university, to the gym and running along the broad walk. There’s not really much to say, it’s definitely no Rio and a whole whirlwind of things personally are making this change harder to navigate but I have some sort of routine here with focuses on my health and fitness which I am appreciating having the time to invest in.
I hope everyone is well and until the next blog, hasta luego!
