Student Support and Wellbeing Services are hosting more wellbeing events for our Exam Season Toolkit campaign from Monday 10 March - Friday 28 March 2025. Explore our events and register your interest to be notified once tickets open!

Would you like to try your hand at painting, but don't know where to start? Pick up a paint-by-numbers kit provided by Student Support and Wellbeing Services and create your own painting. Take your painting home to enjoy it every day.

Please book in advance so that you can drop in at any time from 1.30pm-4pm. We estimate that each painting should take approximately 2 hours to complete.

Benefits of paint by numbers

Many people find solace and relaxation in the simple act of painting by numbers. This enjoyable hobby offers a delightful way to decompress, delve into our creativity, cultivate mindfulness, and many more benefits:

Stress reduction: immerse yourself in the act of painting and enjoy the meditative experience, which reduces stress levels, promotes relaxation, and improves overall mental wellbeing.

Cognitive benefits: matching numbers to specific colours requires focus, and regular practise of art can enhance hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Social bonding: joining workshops dedicated to this hobby allows you to connect with new people from different backgrounds and cultures, building a sense of community

Physical and mental relaxation: the calming and repetitive motion of painting can relax muscles and reduce physical tension, releasing endorphins that promote a sense of joy and happiness.
