Summer success of 199 and rising: Science communication workshops in Croatia

ESConet Trainers is a pan-European science communication network, funded by the European Commission through Framework Programme 7, which is run through STS.

The aim is to offer practical science communication training to researchers and scientists involved with other EC-funded research networks in Europe.

The project has proved very successful and popular with its trainees, 199 of who participated in the workshops arranged at the Centre of Advanced Academic Studies in Dubrovnik this summer. The training, which is very interactive and laden with practical activities, includes modules such as on how media cover science, communicating risk, communicating with policy makers, and talking to the media.
