Workshop - "Brazilian Media and the Journalistic Field"
On July 10th, 2015, Econpublic project hosted the workshop “Brazilian Media and the Journalistic Field” at UCL, London. This mini conference aimed to interrogate the current topography of the Brazilian media sphere. Antonio Pedroso exposed the cultural resources and professional dynamic of Brazilian elites in economic journalism. Andres Villar discussed Brazil’s image and international relations among other Latin American countries. Tomás Undurraga debated about the newsroom as knowledge site, considering his findings in two Brazilian newspapers. The workshop was an excellent opportunity not only to discuss contemporary research on the media sphere but also to connect different scholars interested in Brazil and the journalistic field.
