Open Days

If your application is a strong one, the department will invite you to one of three Open Days throughout the year. The open days provide applicants with the opportunity to meet current students and learn more about the course. Applicants will also talk with several members of academic staff about the department an about how your interests and skills relate to the subjects we study. Applicants will have a chance to explore the department, UCL and Bloomsbury.

Open days are normally held in late November, early February and mid March.

UCL also holds university wide open days for students who are thinking of applying. These are usually held in early July. For more information see the online prospectus.

Is Open Day worth attending? One of our students told us:

"As I did not attend an Open Day, the first time I had a chance to have a look around UCL was at the interview I was invited to. I felt rather nervous, as I knew a lot would depend on that one meeting... But my fears turned out to be completely uncalled-for. I had a warm welcome, eased up quickly, the interview was more like an informal chat, and as I was given a tour of UCL, I felt like they really cared about my opinion on the university. My decision to take the offer by the department was greatly influenced by this experience."
