In this STS Careers event, we meet Jake Love Soper to talk about careers in policy and government that make use of skills developed in STS.
Jake Love Soper has had many roles both inside and outside UK civil service. In government, these include Head of Public Service Leadership Taskforce Secretariat in the Cabinet Office, and Senior Policy Analyst in the Department of Work and Pensions. He also has worked as a business and policy consultant around the world. Overall, his expertise is in government social policy strategy and delivery as well as private sector sustainability and philanthropy.
Jake currently lives in Singapore and splits his time between international policy/delivery consulting projects and research into his PhD on how different government cultures used science to respond to COVID-19. Jake is UCL Class of 2003 (BSc History and Philosophy of Science) and has returned to STS for his PhD after nearly twenty years of work in and around government. Jake spends his weekends as a scuba diving instructor.
