About the Speaker
Rebecca Raven
Curator at The Science Museum
Rebecca is a Curator for the Science Museum's new Technician's gallery. This is a first-of-a-kind interactive gallery, with hands-on exhibits that bring to life a wide variety of workplaces, from a blockbuster film set to a pharmaceutical lab. Her role involves research, creating engaging and creative content as well as liaising with external experts, and coordinating advisory groups. She was previously collections-based, providing practical expertise, improving cataloguing on the museum's database MIMSY and working on new acquisitions into the National permanent collection. She has significant experience with engaging with the public via blog posts, podcasts, Twitter, tours, and talks. Rebecca will discuss a Science Museum specific approach to public engagement.
