This webinar brings together key experts in flood disaster management to discuss how the flood warning system in Malaysia can be better utilized and improved, as well as building community resilience and capacity in dealing with floods. Through this webinar you will have the opportunity to find out more about how Malaysia’s flood warning system can be further enhanced, and how to cultivate communities that are to react efficiently towards the warnings.

Distinguished researcher and lecturer from Universiti Sains Malaysia specialising in emergency management (incident, disaster, and crisis), Incident Command System (ICS), risk management, HAZMAT, chemical dispersion modelling, Business Continuity Management, and OSH Auditing & Management System.
Dr. Haliza Abdul Rahman
Associate professor at Universiti Putra Malaysia
Associate professor from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her research involves environmental management and studies especially in the area of EIA, SIA, environmental policy and law and also public involvement in environmental issues. This includes the social aspect of climate change and disaster management.
Ms. Farrah Faridah Baptist
Chief Executive Officer at Ihsan Johor
Chief Executive Officer of Ihsan Johor, a non-governmental organisation that promote volunteerism and provide humanitarian aid locally and internationally. The organisation most recently was involved in the flood relief for Malaysia’s “100-year-flood” in December 2021.
