National Student Survey

21 January 2019–30 April 2019, 12:00 am–12:00 am

The National Student Survey (NSS), in which all UK final year undergraduate students are invited to participate, has been run annually since 2005. Universities are required to take part in the Survey as part of the Teaching Quality Information arrangements with the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). The NSS is managed on behalf of HEFCE by Ipsos MORI, an independent survey research agency, which runs the NSS during the second term each year. Students are asked to complete the NSS questionnaire on-line and may be contacted by telephone and by post. The NSS covers the academic experience, including teaching, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management, and learning resources. The NSS results are used as part of the Annual Student Experience (ASER) data package and also discussed at the Student Experience Committee.
