The Strategy team manages the development of UCL’s Strategic Plan, which sets out our whole-university priorities, focusing effort and investment on a programme of change to support our vision and mission. Read UCL Strategic Plan 2022-27

We provide foresight and analysis to inform decision making and support the articulation of our strategic goals. Our Strategy Engagement team reports on the university’s progress towards the goals of our five strategic outcome areas, which include those of our Strategic Plan and our in-year priorities. What is the role of strategy and strategic plans?

To prepare UCL for the future (rather than focus on short-term, day-to-day activity)
To distinguish UCL from others, identifying our unique assets and features and how to maximise their potential
To provide a roadmap that coordinates and prioritises our activity, especially in turbulent times, and a common frame of reference so that if we need to change direction, we know what assumptions, ideas or plans we might alter
To hold overview of our activities and our external landscape, so that we align internally and can respond to external change
