Deltas Dealings with Uncertainty (DoUbT)
8 October 2018
Members of the ORA/ESRC project Deltas’ Dealings with Uncertainty (DoUbT) from Osaka University, UNESCO – IHE, IRD, CIRAD, University of Amsterdam and UCL STEaPP met in Kyoto, Japan.
The meeting aimed to discuss research progress and inform the multiple practices and knowledges involved in today’s global delta governance.
The meeting focused on the role of expert knowledge, climate modelling, hydrology, agronomic research and delta planning to examine the extent to which such objects influence the governance of deltas. By looking at case studies from Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar, discussant looked at ways to recognise multiple delta ontologies and ways to inform environmental planning practices.
Attended by UK team lead Professor Arthur Petersen, and researchers Daniel Hogendoorn and Lucas Somavilla from UCL STEaPP.
