Join us for this thought provoking seminar with Professor Saleem H. Ali.
Distinguished Professor of Geography at the University of Delaware (USA). Lead for Critical Metals at the United Nations University (INWEH) Honorary Professor at the Sustainable Minerals Institute in Australia.
The term "sustainability" connotes a desirable future in environmental and social terms and yet the concept is poorly understood by the public in terms of its scientific underpinnings. This presentation will synthesize some of the key insights from a new primer on Sustainability published by Oxford University Press in their celebrated "Very Short Introduction" series (VSIs) to sharpen our understanding of this vital concept and make it meaningful beyond being a "feel-good" term.
This event is organised jointly by the Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (STEaPP) and Institute for Sustainable Resources (ISR).
This is a ticketed event and to register your place please contact Professor Yacob Mulugetta.
