Sir Geoff Mulgan is a renowned thought leader and Professor at the Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (STEaPP) department at University College London (UCL). With a distinguished career spanning public policy, innovation, and government leadership, Sir Geoff has held pivotal roles, including CEO of Nesta, the UK’s innovation foundation, and CEO of the Young Foundation. He has also served in the UK government as director of the Government's Strategy Unit and head of policy in the Prime Minister's office.
Sir Geoff is the author of several influential books, including The Art of Public Strategy (OUP), Good and Bad Power (Penguin), Big Mind (Princeton UP), and Social Innovation (Policy Press). His most recent works include chairing an EU programme on ‘Whole of Government Innovation’ and establishing the Institutional Architecture Lab in 2024. His latest book, When Science Meets Power (Polity Press, 2024), delves into the intersection of scientific knowledge and political influence.
