Biographical Details

Tom is a Lecturer (Teaching) in the department, starting at UCL in 2017. Prior to this he studied for an MSc and PhD in Statistics at the University of Warwick, following completion of a BA in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge.

Research Interests

Tom is passionate about developing and presenting high quality teaching materials to UCL students. In recent years this teaching has focused on introductory statistics for non-specialist students, but Tom has also taught on courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level covering a range of topics from statistical theory to computational statistics.

Tom's current statistical research mainly goes hand in hand with supervision of undergrduate and postgraduate project students. Over the past few years these projects have covered a wide range of topics within spatial statistics. Potential BSc/MSci/MSc project students are welcome to get in contact via the email address above.
