Biographical Details

I have been a faculty member in Statistical Science at UCL since January 2018, and associate professor since 2022. Before that I was a postdoctoral researcher with Christophe Andrieu at the University of Bristol, as part of the 'i-like: intractable likelihood' project, and before that I was a PhD student at UCL, supervised by Mark Girolami and Alex Beskos. In a previous life I worked as a transport planner specialising in demand and revenue forecasting.

Research Interests

My primary research area is Bayesian computation, with a particular focus on Markov chain Monte Carlo methods. I also work in Health Data Science, by which I mean building probabilistic models for healthcare and biological applications.

I currently supervise three PhD students:

• Xitong Liang (co-supervised with Professor Jim Griffin), since September 2019

• Luke Hardcastle (co-supervised with Professor Gianluca Baio), since September 2021
