Dr Gianluca Baio to speak at the Joint Statistical Meeting 2013 in Montreal

Dr Gianluca Baio will present a talk on the application of the Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD) to Epidemiology as part of an invited session at the Joint Statistical Meeting which will be held in Montreal (Canada) in the first week of August. In the talk, Dr Baio will discuss the application of econometric designs to investigate causal inference from observational data, as applied to the case of treatment effects in regulated health systems, such as the NHS, where guidelines are issued but not strictly adhered to by doctors and patients.
