Drs Gianluca Baio and Aidan O'Keeffe to take up new positions within the department
12 August 2014
Dr Gianluca Baio has received a five year research grant from Mapi, a consultancy company working in the area of health economic evaluation. This research income has been used to co-fund a new Lectureship in Statistics and Health Economics that Dr Baio has just taken up. In his new post, Dr Baio will continue developing statistical methodology, particularly in the area of Bayesian analysis in health economic evaluations.
Dr O'Keeffe, who is currently employed on the MRC-funded research project: "The regression discontinuity design: a novel approach to evaluating the effects of drugs and treatments in primary care" (led by Dr Baio), will replace Dr Baio as Lecturer in Biostatistics, in a joint appointment between the department and the Joint Research Office at University College London Hospitals.
