Prof Gianluca Baio part of a team awarded funds to trial drug for COVID-19

Prof Gianluca Baio is part of an international team (including other groups at the UCL Institute of Clinical Trials and Methodology (ICTM) awarded funds for $2.3 from the Gates Foundation. Up to 30,000 healthcare workers from across the globe will be recruited to participate in the clinical trial co-led by UCL, which aims to establish whether chloroquine, a widely prescribed anti-malaria drug, could also prevent people from getting COVID-19.
