Prof Guillas elected Chair of uncertainty working group of international tsunami network

Professor Serge Guillas has been elected Chair of the Working Group investigating the quantification and reduction of uncertainty on all levels of the analysis chain in tsunami risk. This network, now consisting of 25 countries, is called AGITHAR (Accelerating Global science In Tsunami HAzard and Risk analysis). The kick-off meeting will take place over 7-9 October 2019 in Malta. It is funded by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) and will last four years (2019-2023).

This network is related to the Alan Turing Institute project on Uncertainty Quantification led by Professor Guillas in collaboration with the Universities of Oxford, Warwick and Exeter.
