IWSM2018: best student presentation

Congratulations go to UCL PhD student Clair Barnes, who was the joint recipient of the “best student presentation” award at the 2018 International Workshop on Statistical Modelling. Clair receives a cash prize of US$250, for her presentation entitled “New approaches to postprocessing of multi-model ensemble weather forecasts”. Well done also to the other UCL students who contributed to a lively and enjoyable conference: Robson Machado (“Penalised maximum likelihood estimation in multistate models with an application to cardiovasculary disease”), Alkeos Tsokos (“Relative importance of terms in regularised linear models”) and Wenyu Wang (“Frailty Models for Cardiac Allograft Vasculopathy Data”).
