Report a lost ID card (I have lost my card)

If you lose your ID card, please report it to Security Systems. They will deactivate the card and issue you a new one. 

Before you start

You should know that:

  • Permanent members of staff (orange banner cards) get five cards before they need to pay for replacements.  
  • Contractors/visitor/associate staff (black banner cards) get two cards before they need to pay for replacements. 
  • Please note that your first UCL ID card counts as issue one and following that, any cards lost or stolen will count as your second, third, etc.
  • The UCL ID card remains the property of UCL and must be returned to UCL Security at the end of your contract or course. The card is non-transferable and must be used by the named cardholder only.

You will need: 

  • ID (such as a passport or Driver’s Licence); and
  • £15 (if you have to pay for your replacement card).
1. Report the lost card

If you lose your ID card, please report it to Security Systems. Security will then deactivate the card and issue you a new one. 

2. If you need to pay for your replacement card

It will cost £15 to replace a lost ID card. Please speak with Andrew Huxley reception staff before making a payment.

3. Collect a new card from Security Systems

You will need to go to the Security Systems office and bring a piece of photographic ID such as a Passport, Drivers licence, BRP or EU ID card. Please note that we photocopies or digital copies are NOT accepted.
