Networking Naturally
Course Description:

Some people love networking and others hate it, but few understand its potential in the academic setting or make the most of networking opportunities. This experiential course will help you achieve this in a way that is as natural as possible for you.

  • Networking theories
  • Overcoming barriers to natural networking
  • Networking at academic conferences
  • Making a successful elevator pitch
  • Coming out well from awkward situations

Objectives:
  • Understand the value of networking in the academic setting
  • Know and apply a range of networking theories
  • Consider how to use your natural personality to best effect whilst networking
  • Network more effectively at academic conferences

This course is led by external consultant, Dr Adair Richards.
