Risk Management Essentials (OD.PD.9906) 
Course Description:

This course will explain how to manage risk as part of our everyday work at UCL. We will go through the steps of dealing with threats and opportunities and appreciate UCL’s approach to managing risk.

This session will cover:

  • The risk management process: what is risk and risk management?
  • Identifying, assessing and documenting risks
  • Selecting responses
  • People and risk
  • Risk management in the organisation and UCL's approach to risk management

Note the course consists of three sessions, all of which must be attended in order.


Objectives:

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the prevalence and context of risk
  • See risk as something to be managed and not to be avoided or disregarded
  • Utilise approaches to measuring and mitigating risk
  • Provide a perspective on how people may respond differently to risk
Intended Audience:

This course is for all those who need to think about and/or manage risk as part of their role at UCL whether in professional services, teaching or research.
