DSD: Microsoft Teams Workshop 2: Managing & Participating in Meetings
Course Description:
This is the second in a series of four advanced Microsoft Teams workshops which aim to make you more confident and productive when working with Teams. This second workshop focuses on setting up, managing and participating in Teams meetings. A wide range of features and settings available for meeting owners and participants will be covered as well as many of the recently added new features.

This workshop assumes you are already using Teams and are familiar with the basics. If you are completely new to Teams or have only recently started using Teams please see the Prerequisites section below.

The workshops may be attended in any order. Workshop 1 focuses on posts, private chats, managing teams, customising your settings, many tips and more. Workshop 3 takes a comprehensive look at document collaboration. Workshop 4 focuses on Forms polling in channels, chats and meetings.

Once you have booked on the course you will be able to access all of the online materials in our Digital Skills Development Moodle course.

PREREQUISITES: If you are new or relatively new to Teams please first attend the DSD: Microsoft Teams Introduction/Prerequisite course for Advanced Workshop.

IMPORTANT:

Once you have enrolled, please check that you have received a confirmation email from MyLearning. You will also receive an email with a joining link at least one day before the session.

Courses start on the hour but please join during the 5 minutes prior to this to download resources and test out your connection/audio.

Objectives:
At the end of this course you will be familiar with:
  • creating scheduled meetings, ad hoc meetings, channel meetings, and chat meetings,
  • meeting options for meeting scheduler, e.g. lobby bypass, audio controls, who can present
  • meeting options for everyone during a meeting
  • live captions, meeting transcripts
  • large Gallery or Together mode
  • apply background effects
  • whiteboard collaboration, export notes as image
  • sharing your desktop or window
  • recording meetings
  • attendance reports
  • & breakout groups.
Intended Audience:
This workshop is aimed at those who are already familiar with the basics of Teams and wish to extend their knowledge of managing and participating in Teams meetings.
