DSD: Kick-starting your literature review with Zotero (Campus-based)
Course Description:

This campus-based session aims to help you create a good literature review by leveraging the power of Zotero, Adobe PDF, and library sources.

This two hour practical session takes place face to face on campus

It is essential that before attending, learners have the following software installed on their devices, set up and working:

If you encounter problems installing any of this software you must attend a DSD Drop-in Session to get help before attending.

You should also register for a Zotero online account (a free service).

IMPORTANT:

Once you have enrolled, please check that you have received a confirmation email from MyLearning. You will also receive an email with location details at least one day before the session.

Please arrive 10 - 15 minutes prior to the start of the course to allow time for logging in and downloading resources.

Objectives:
The session will cover:
  • using Zotero;
  • storing and organising bibliographic data;
  • annotating Zotero entries;
  • creating citations and reference lists;
  • annotating PDF content;
  • generating annotated reports on your reading.

This course is aimed at those who wish to understand the tools and techniques that can be used to carry out a literature review.
