DSD: Managing your digital profile and social media presence
Course Description:

A coherent online presence has become very important for both researchers and academics. This session will cover key issues and strategies to successfully manage your online presence.


Please ensure you are using Desktop@UCL or the UCL VPN when booking because you need to be on the UCL network to use the system.

Once you have enrolled, you will need to click on the play button under 'My current enrolments' in My Learning to join at the time of the live session. You will also receive an email from ISD containing the direct joining link a day before the session. Please check your junk folder as these emails are occasionally tagged as spam.

The training on 5th May will take place on Zoom and live captions will be available for those who wish to use this option.

By the end of the session you will be familiar with:
  • Identifying key terms from `doxxing? to `digital footprint?
  • Best practice for professional social media accounts for example Twitter, and professional networks like LinkedIn
  • Ideas and strategies to develop your online reach
  • Advice for dealing with online harassment and trolls
