DLE: Lecturecast - dynamic teaching using the ALP tools (ELEXLALP)
Course Description:

Lecturecast provides a powerful suite of tools to facilitate student engagement. These tools can be used before, during and after an event even if no recording is taking place.

This course, aimed at teaching staff, is designed to give participants hands on experience of these tools and how their use can benefit both staff and students. The nature of the course requires a minimum number of participants to run successfully and the organisers reserve the right to cancel sessions numbers are too small.

Objectives:
At the end of this course you will be able to:
  • Recognise the various Active Learning Platform (ALP) tools within the Lecturecast system
  • Appreciate and understand the benefits of using ALP tools to engage with students before, during and after a lecture.
  • Upload presentation slides into the Lecturecast system
  • Create interactive question slides
  • Run engaging teaching sessions using the ALP tools
Intended Audience:
This course is aimed at tutors who are interested in delivering more engaging lecture sessions. Note that tutors don't need to be using Lecturecast for recording to make use of the engagement tools.
