As the largest centre in the UK for the study of the region, SSEES has a broad offering in literature, languages and culture of Eastern Europe and Russian. Our degrees in this subject area provide flexibility in module choices, allowing students to tailor studies to their interests. We have particular strengths in cinema, and research into trauma and memory, as well as providing an unparalleled range of languages from the region, of which all students have the opportunity to study should you wish. A number of research centres and events accompany your studies, which draw in speakers from other research institutions, embassies and our key partners.
