Module Outline
This course, first, covers linguistically or conceptually more difficult texts than Czech Literature 2 (e.g. the thirteenth century verse Alexander Book or tracts by Stíný and Chelcický): secondly, it covers some complete genre products (e.g. all Czech fourteenth-century drama, all the chief exempla collections from c. 1350 to c. 1650). A student completing this course will normally be able to conduct research in any aspect of Old and Middle Czech literature.
