Rudi Klanjšek

Rudi Klanjsek

Rudi Klanjšek holds a Ph.D. in Sociology and works as an assistant professor at the Department of Sociology, and as a researcher at the Center for the Study of Post-Socialist Societies (CePSS), University of Maribor, Slovenia. He specializes in cross-cultural studies in the area of values, deviance, religiosity, poverty, inequality and economic development. As an author and co-author, he has extensively published in a number of well renowned international journals such as European Societies (Social status and religiosity in Christian Europe), Nationalities Papers (Exit Yugoslavia: longing for mono-national states or entrepreneurial manipulation?), Journal of Comparative Family Studies (Recent Changes in the Post-Yugoslav Family: The Disappearance of the Last Extended Family in Europe), Journal of Adolescence (Religious orientation, low self-control, and deviance: Muslims, Catholics, Eastern Orthodox-, and "Bible Belt" Christians), Justice Quarterly (A test of self-control theory across different socioeconomic strata), British Journal of Sociology of Education (Cultural capital and intellectual ability as predictors of scholastic achievement: a study of Slovenian secondary school students), etc.
