Romana Sustar

Romana Sustar has over 20 years of teaching experience in several languages. She joined the UCL School of Slavonic and Eastern European Languages Team as a Slovene tutor in October 2017. Romana completed her Master’s Degree in Art History and Slavic Studies at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz, which is known as the cradle of scientific Slovene studies established in 1811. She holds a successful track record of teaching professionals from all walks of life. She taught the Ambassador to Slovenia at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and developed an immersive language method based on her experience of 4000 hrs of online training. 

She likes innovating educational processes, exchanging best practices, sharing knowledge, designing learning materials and embracing new technologies. As a learning designer, she has been working with schools, universities, higher education, and the corporate sector globally. She sees teaching as a continuous journey, and she takes pride in seeing her students and clients succeed. She is the assessor for Slovene and a Council Member at the Chartered Institute of Languages in the UK.
