David Moon (University of York)

David Moon is Anniversary Professor in History at the University of York and is a Leverhulme Major Research Fellow (2015-17). He has published extensively on Russian serfdom and the interactions between the peasants and Russian officialdom, and is currently working in the field of Russian and transnational environmental history. 

This focus can be seen in his most recent book, The Plough that Broke the Steppes: Agriculture and Environment on Russia’s Grasslands, 1700-1914 (OUP, 2013).
