Careers support for SSEES students

Careers support at SSEES during your studies and two years after graduating.

Careers support for SSEES students is offered throughout the academic year. Careers coaching appointments, CV and applications advice, and practice interviews are available online and in person every weekday. Careers fairs, departmental careers workshops, employer meet-and-greets, alumni panels, and hundreds of other careers events run throughout the year. This includes the SSEES Employers’ Evening offering opportunities for networking, a chance to hear from employers with relevant job opportunities, and a chance to hear from talented SSEES alumni. Please book these through your MyUCLCareers account. All careers support is available for SSEES alumni for two years after graduation. We also offer enhanced support for students from certain under-represented groups: for more information, please see Careers Extra | UCL Careers - UCL – University College London

Job-hunting resources for opportunities in the SSEES region are on the SSEES Careers moodle page, along with plenty of other careers help. UCL Careers advertises graduate jobs, work experience opportunities, and internships on the MyUCLCareers Jobs Board. Our Careers Essentials e-learning course, which runs alongside live workshops of the same name, provides practical "how-to" help on deciding on a career, understanding the graduate labour market, writing applications, and interviewing for jobs.

Meet the Team

SSEES Careers Liaison Tutor: Dr Pawel Bukowski

"Some undergraduates and many postgraduates who come to SSEES already know exactly what they want to do when they leave. Others have no firm plans. In fact, many of those who study here change their minds as they find out new opportunities that they had hardly heard of or didn’t think that they could do. The UCL Careers Service plays a vital role for many students in helping you find out what’s available and how to get to the right job or course at the end of your study here.

My role is to make sure that SSEES students know about all of the great resources and opportunities provided by the UCL Careers Service."

Careers Consultant for SSEES: Hilary Moor

"I’m the Senior Careers Consultant here at SSEES. I offer individual careers coaching, and I also run a series of specialised career talks and events throughout the academic year, focussed on the particular career aspirations of students at SSEES.

I'm here to help you explore all your career opportunities, market yourself effectively in the UK and the SSEES region, and help introduce you to alumni and employers who can help you understand the type of roles a SSEES degree can lead to – and how to get there.

To view our full list of events, and to book an appointment to see me or anyone else in our team, please log into your MyUCLCareers account."
