Stefan Lacny Wins BASEES PGR Prize

Congratulations to SSEES Academic Stefan Lacny on winning this year's BASEES Prize for the Best Scholarly Article by a Postgraduate Student for his article, "Creating the Polish enemy on the Soviet Screen, 1925-1939", that was published in Studies in Russian and Soviet Cinema. 

Stefan's article explores the representation of Polish characters in Soviet cinema prior to World War II and argues that their depiction reveals "a persistent Soviet anxiety towards Poland". Read the full article here and find more information on the prize on the BASEES website.
