The conference serves as a multidisciplinary forum of Belarusian studies in the West and offers a rare networking opportunity for researchers of Belarus.

This 10th anniversary conference will take place on 9–10 May 2025 in the hybrid format. The Annual London Lecture on Belarusian Studies will follow the main conference panels. Those attending in person will be able to attend a reception at UCL and a tour of the Francis Skaryna Belarusian Library and Museum Church of St Cyril of Turau & All the Patron Saints of the Belarusian People.

The conference will also mark the 60th anniversary of the Journal of Belarusian Studies, the oldest scholarly periodical in this area.

The organisers are interested in papers that discuss history, political science, business, political economy, literature, sociology and religious studies. Interdisciplinary studies are particularly encouraged. Selected papers will be peer-reviewed and published in the Journal of Belarusian Studies in 2025.

The organising committee includes Prof Yarik Kryvoi (co-chair), Prof Andrew Wilson (co-chair), Peter Braga, and Dr Karalina Matskievich.

The conference will be recorded. You can watch earlier editions of the conference here.

Conference partners: the Journal of Belarusian Studies, British Association of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies (BASEES), and Anglo-Belarusian Society.
