Dr Jakub Beneš Receives the 2021 Advancement Award

Congratulations to Dr Jakub Beneš, Lecturer in Central European History, who has received the 2021 advancement award of the Victor-Adler State Prize for the history of social movements. The prize is conferred every two years by the Republic of Austria’s Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Research and recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of social and cultural history. An international jury decided to bestow this honour on Dr Beneš for his monograph Workers and Nationalism: Czech and German Social Democracy in Habsburg Austria, 1890-1918 (Oxford University Press, 2017).
